I love this hotel so much. For the interior, I would say it’s antique as the hotel’s history but very clean. And I booked the room with the garden which is very pretty.

The location was convenient for the bus to gion and only 10 minutes walk from the train station next to the railway museum. The old building was traditional which was part of the experience. It was still comfortable as the ac/heating unit worker well (I was there in January). The shower had good pressure and plenty of hot water.

I loved to experience the traditional feel. It was extremely easy to access the property and the rooms. The amenities are all located at the main building. I stayed in the single room and it was very comfortable. I don’t think i’d enjoy it quite as much if i stayed in the quad like my friend did. The staff was amazing. After a couple days of not putting the indoor sandals back correctly i noticed they were placing it a certain way. I started to fix my habits of doing it backwards

The homestay with Japanese traditional style house in between the small alley with the same old houses was left me good impression, a love for Japan culture. I chose the dorm room, it’s small with 2 small two-storey beds also but it’s ok for me cuz i just spent my the days out in Kyoto from 5am until midnight and only sleep time with the Haruya. I knew there was breakfast of rice soup included the room cost but I never had a chance to taste cuz I left at 5am everyday LOL (do hope next visiting i can do with no more rush like first time). This stay is 900m to the JR station by walking, it’s no matter for me or the one who use to walk and just 100m to bus station. It’s not in the city heart so quite peaceful, less crowded. Outside bathroom and toilett separated were clean and in good condition, hot water enough for showering. I saw a very impression bookshelf from the general living room but had no time to take a look in detail or just take a seat to understand more of my stay.

Absolutely beautiful little room, good AC and the futons were super easy to prepare and put away - no instructions necessary. Pretty good location though be carful of google maps in the area, it sometimes had us waiting in the wrong area for the bus's (not the hostels fault but just a heads up for the bus's in general) The rooms were clean and felt really authentic - was great to experience a more traditional setting whilst in Kyoto for a very reasonable price! Showers were very nice and the overall was very clean and tidy. They also offer a free breakfast for those interested in the main building - but it looks to just be rice porridge, I didn't take them up on this but its available on a first come first serve basis from 6am for those interested.

Great Historical Japanese Building, all with tatami, and old flair. If you ever were interested in an Akiya or Machia experience for cheap this is it. The hostel is located next to several Bus Stations that can get you to all the prominent locationsof kyoto with ease. The staff is friendly and speaks english. The hostel provides renrsl Yukata (Summer Robes) as well as many other ammenities to round off your trip.
